Born NYC ,NY 1962 and raised in NYC and Los Angeles. Studied at Otis Parsons School of design 1980-84 with dual majors in fine art and photography, under Lita Albuquerque, Betty Saar and Emerson Wolfer. Gimbel lives and works in west Sweden with his wife GG on the Kungsbacka Fjord.
